“No one has ever become poor by giving.” -Anne Frank
I still remember the first time a arrived to The Toronto Humane Society on a Saturday morning to start my first shift as a dog walker. I didn’t know then about rescue groups. Months after through Mylo’s dog trainer Dhalia Ayoub from Mightty Mutts I was invited to volunteer with her for the rescue groups she was helping at that time. Thus I started my “career” as dog volunteer. When we {hubby, Mylo and I} opened Tail-Waggers in 2010, I knew I wanted to find a way to help dogs. I started to use the phrase “SHARE A LINK. SAVE A PAW!” when reposting about dogs in need and rescue groups. I also started to guest blog about the importance of using social media to help dogs in need with exposure. Many others started to do the same and all of the sudden posts about helping dogs were all over different social media platforms. That was just amazing!!!
Personally, I wanted to do more, giving back is very close to my hearth. After shaping the idea and understanding the commitment behind it, the Tail-Waggers PROJECT was launched. This donation project supports not just local rescue groups but also many local non profit organizations helping our community. This program also covers all the expenses regarding volunteer activities with local rescue groups. PETS, children and seniors are a priority for Tail-Waggers team!
Where does the money comes from? With the idea that Tail-Waggers clients are a sponsor, once a month we either make a DONATION and/or cover the expenses for volunteer activities on their behalf using the money from the dog walking and pet sitting services. I am thrilled to share with you today the projects for the first eight months of 2014. THANK YOU for being a part of it!
