{MEET 9 YEAR OLD CONWAY}
Conway was just saved from a high kill pound. After 9 years with the same family – he was surrendered to the pound to die. You see, Conway’s owners were fighting and he got in the middle of the fight. Someone was bitten and Conway was disowned. We are not 100% sure of the exact events leading up to the bite but it was stated when he was surrendered that he bit while the owners were fighting. Hmmmm
After Conway’s 10 day quarantine, the pound discovered that he had a deep laceration on his head. The would was bad enough to need a good flushing. Conway didn’t flinch. In fact, Conway passed his temperament test with flying colours! The only thing noted was that he is shy at times and will hit the floor if someone raises their hand over his head. Double Hmmmm
Conway, according to his assessment and observation at the pound, seems to be housebroken and quiet. He is an old timer, boxer mix, who just needs a quiet and routine home. He got really bouncy and playful with other dogs and was happy to greet people on leash.
We pulled Conway from the pound and had him check by our vet. He is going to a foster home by this weekend. We will update you all as he settles and during his recovery. Conway is doing great in foster care and allowing us to touch his head (came in head shy).
{MEET GILLY}
Gilly spent 5 months at a shelter and nobody could handle her. Here is a great photo captured of Gilly by Trish Aleve of Pawsome Pet Photography. We are not sure of her past but her confidence can easily be squashed with a quick movement as you can see in this photo. She has come such a long way but will still need work on trust when being handled. We will keep you all posted on her progress.
{MEET 10 year old BRUISER}
Bruiser, a 10 year old male Chihuahua, is such a sweet little soul with a lot of love to give. He was surrendered when his previous family could no longer care for him. When rescued he needed dental – now he has almost no teefies and his little tongue sometimes hangs out of his little moufies. Bruiser loves to rest and relax most of the day but will get up and do anything for treats. He knows how to sit and sit “pretty” and also likes going for his walkies on warmer days. He isn’t bothered by the resident cats and dogs but will not do good in a home with a hyper dog or small children due to his size and age. He is not interested in toys but likes going for his walkies and having snuggle time. He would do best in a less active home where he can get lots of love and attention and snuggles on the couch! He is doing well with his potty training but does wear a belly band at times. Bruiser deserves to spend the rest of his days with a loving home that will love Bruiser for all that he is!
{MEET SHIVERS}
Shivers was going to be shot – she is very skinny and her fur is missing on some of her body and her ears. Her ears look like leather…she is doing great in foster and gaining weight. Shivers is a female beagle looking to learn what love means!
These pooches will receive treats and food for their training and fostering process. If you can open your home to any of these gentle souls, please email d_ayoub@rogers.com of Mighty Mutts.
All food/vetting covered by receiving rescue
